We're a neighborhood flower stand — stop by, pick what you love, and pay through Venmo. That's genuinely it.
Browse this week's specials here or follow us on Instagram for sneak peeks every Sunday night before we update the site.
We're at our home in Comstock Park. The stand is open dawn to dusk as long as flowers are still available — first come, first served.
Pick what you love, scan the Venmo QR code, pay what's listed. We trust our neighbors — that's the whole foundation of this thing.
Word of mouth is how we grow. If you loved your flowers, a quick share or text to a neighbor means the world to us.
Grocery store flowers travel thousands of miles before you buy them. Ours don't cross a zip code.
The average store-bought flower travels over 1,500 miles before you hold it — flown from Colombia or Ecuador, through cold-chain logistics, to a distribution center, to a stockroom. Ours? Same week they were cut, a few miles from our garden at most.
Commercial cut flowers are routinely flown from South America — one of the most carbon-intensive supply chains in retail. Ours never leave Michigan, and most never leave our backyard.
Floral foam is a non-biodegradable microplastic used in the vast majority of store and florist arrangements. We wrap with kraft paper and natural twine — nothing that ends up in a landfill.
Our garden is grown to support native bees, butterflies, and birds. No neonicotinoids, no systemic pesticides — just seasonal flowers doing what flowers do best.
On weeks when our garden can't keep up with demand, we source from other small Michigan growers — never from commercial importers. The footprint stays tiny either way.
The stand is just the beginning. We do events, subscriptions, and custom orders — reach out and we'll make it happen.
Bridal bouquets, centerpieces, ceremony arches, reception arrangements — all with locally grown flowers. No corporate upsell, just what you actually need.

something candid from the garden
It started simply: I loved creating floral arrangements for our home. Filling a room with fresh flowers from the garden felt like the best kind of luxury — and I was hooked.
Over the years, the garden kept growing. What was once a small backyard plot became an abundance far too beautiful to keep to ourselves. So we set out a little stand at the end of our driveway, put up a Venmo QR code, and trusted our Comstock Park neighbors to do the right thing.
They did. Every single time.
Those years of tending the garden taught me something else too: timing is everything. Knowing exactly when to harvest each variety — the precise moment that gives you the longest vase life — is a craft in itself. Every stem we cut is picked at its peak, so the flowers you bring home last.
That knowledge, that care, and that trust are what Thomas Family Floral Farms is built on. No storefront overhead, no corporate pricing, no flowers that crossed three time zones to reach you. Just our family, our garden, and our community.
One email a week — what's fresh, what's running out, and any events or pop-ups coming up. No spam. No selling your info. Just flowers.
